Our community pub opened on Friday 29 April 2022 after a massively successful fundraising campaign.
The pub had been closed since the summer of 2021.
But thanks to the hard work of the steering committee and the enthusiasm of local people, The White Lion was able to open its doors once again. You can imagine there was a long queue of people waiting outside.
The committee was led by David Leader, who championed village unity and harmony and had an incredible appetite for making good things happen. David died suddenly on 13 March 2022. The village misses him terribly.
The re-opened White Lion is a testament to a remarkable man. We are determined to make it a success and honour his vision.
