Sadly, the late David Leader was not voted in as the winner of the Community Champion category in the Plunkett Foundation’s Rural Community Business Awards last week.
However, as far as we’re concerned, David is firmly our community champion. Without his drive, kindness and determination, The White Lion would not have reopened.
It was heartening to hear the stories of all those individuals and community businesses shortlisted for these annual awards.
The world needs more good news stories, and selfless people who go above and beyond because they care.
